Paper Sweeties October 2016 New Release Sneak Peeks

Hello Friends!
Welcome to the October 2016 Release for
Today the entire team is going to share their SNEAK PEEKS of the fun new stamps and dies for October!  All of the products we are showcasing will be available for purchase on October 15th in the Paper Sweeties store!  I am in LOVE with this FABULOUS release and I think you will be too!

My first card is perfect for sending hugs to someone who needs a little pick me up!  I used the new "Basket Add-On: Baked with Love" stamps and dies to create a little gingerbread man.  I heat embossed the gingerbread men image which is a set of 5 gingerbread men (or women) depending on how you decorate them.  I used "brown sugar" embossing powder on kraft cardstock.  Then I hand-cut the last gingerbread man on the right side of the diecut to end up with a single gingerbread man .  I added some glitter enamel dots for buttons, a felt scarf, and some pink cheeks to my little man's face to finish him off.  I then created a mug for him to stand up in by using the teacup from the "Eat Cake" Sweet Cuts and trimming the saucer off by hand.  The heart on the "mug" is 3 hearts (glued together for added dimension) from the heart border in the "Sweet Borders" die set.  A coating from my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen adds some sparkle to the heart and to my sweet little gingerbread man.

I created a scalloped window opening with a circle die and added a plaid paper circle to the inside for the gingerbread man and mug to sit on.  The sentiment is from the "But First Coffee" stamp set and is a favorite of mine!

Next I have some tags to share with you.  They use the Basket stamp and die and the "Basket Add-on: Baked with Love" stamps and dies. I LOVE THESE SETS!!!!!!!  So many fun possibilities!

I stamped and die cut the basket and then added watermark ink and clear embossing powder to give it some shine!  I then glued two additional basket die cuts to the embossed basket for added dimension and stability of my tag.  Next I heat embossed the sweet gingerbread man stamp on kraft cardstock with white embossing powder.  I added some skin pink Copic marker for cheeks and some red gems for buttons along with a red bow tie around one of the gingers necks.

Some black pen dots add a little bit of dimension to their eyes!  The sweet scalloped label on the basket is from the "Home Tweet Home" stamps and sweet cuts.   The sentiment "Baked with Love" is from the new "Basket Add-on: Baked with Love".  The hearts are from the "Tree of Life Add-on Spring" stamps.

A snowflake flannel fabric strip was tied into a bow around the basket handle for some softness.  The last detail was a sweet holly sticker from my stash.  I love how this tag turned out and can just imagine it tied to a package of cookies or treats for the upcoming holidays!

Next I use the Basket Die Cut in a completely different way - upside down as a hat for a snowman!

When my son was 2 years old he had this hat that buttoned under his chin to wear on really cold winter days.  When I was making my first tag (above) I had a leftover die cut sitting upside down on my desk and I thought of that hat....and from there I created this "baby" snowman tag!
I started by die-cutting the basket from black card stock and painting it with Deco Art Ultra Fine Glitter Paint in "Ice Crystal".  It dries quite quickly.  I then die cut the basket again out of white card stock to get the insert piece for my snowman's face.  To create the face I used a carrot nose button from my stash, though a piece of orange card stock with some black lines would work just as well.  Two black rhinestones for the eyes. And a line stamp from the "Holly Days" stamp set to create the mouth.  I used a Copic multiliner to add some eyelashes, eyebrows and mouth lines.  A Prima chalk pencil created the cheeks along with some Stickles glitter glue.  I used some scotch tape to hold the white snowman face inside the black basket. I placed the tape on the back side and then added a second basket die cut in white to the back to cover the tape up and make the back of the tag look nice. I decorated the hat with the Holly stamp and Holly Sweet Cut from the "Holly Days" sets.  I colored the holly die cut with Copics and added three red gems for the berries.  The "You Melt My Heart" tiny tag was created with a sentiment from the "Thanks Snow Much" stamp set and the heart tag from the "Beautiful Little Wishes Sweet Cuts". I colored the heart with a red Copic marker. Some ribbon and a bow complete this sweet tag set!  One of the sets of ribbon and bow is made from torn fabric. I just love how these turned out!

Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge - October 2016

Hello Friends!

 Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Since it is Saturday and an OFFICIAL card making day I hope you will all get to spend some time in your crafty place making some fun cards to celebrate!
And since it is also October 1st and a brand new month it is also time for a brand new Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge!  So welcome to the October Inspiration Challenge with Paper Sweeties!

I had so much fun with these lovely Autumn colors.  Here is the "Cocoa" themed card that I created:

I used several stamp and die sets to create my card.  The lovely mason jar was created with the Mason Jar stamps and dies.  I used the banner die and stamps from this set to make my "yummy treats" labels to tie around the lid.  The word "cocoa" is from the "But First Coffee" stamp set and was used to create my label for my mason jar full of cocoa.

The cups of hot cocoa were created with the teacup stamp and die from the "Eat Cake" sets. I used some small square foam pieces to create marshmallows inside the cups.

The "Warm Winter Wishes" sentiment is from the stamp set of the same name.  A wonderful card to send for a variety of occasions during the cooler months....when they finally arrive.  We are still having sunny weather in the 70's here in Seattle though we have had two nice rain showers over the past month that were much needed!  I cannot wait for some cooler weather!  I am soooo ready this year!

The sweet coffee mug on my card along with the stamped steam image is from the "But First Coffee" stamp set.   I stamped the mug on some sweet striped paper and then die cut it with the coordinating sweet cuts die.  The "I 'heart' coffee" sentiment was made by combining sentiments from two different stamp sets. The "I Love You" stamp set and the "But First Coffee" stamp set. A very sweet and simple card that can be used for a variety of occasions.

Thanks for taking a peek at my card!  I hope you are enjoying all of the wonderful coffee projects that are part of this fabulous blog hop each quarter!  It is so fun to see all of the GORGEOUS inspiration!

2 cards for the Serendipity Stamps Challenge #59: Leave it Bare!

Hello Friends,
I had some free minutes to play and dug into some of my lovely Serendipity Rubber Stamps!  I found inspiration by looking at all of the lovely cards over on the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. And decided to play along with their current challenge:

SSCB#59 Leave It Bare - Let your detailed stamp take center stage. No room for covering up this time - we want you to leave the stamped image bare! No markers, no pencils - nothing - nada! Our red rubber stamps make gorgeous detailed impressions - just ink and stamp! Just be sure to include at least one Serendipity Stamps image (stamp or die) on your design!

I used the lovely "Christmas Chapel" stamp for my cards.  I love the look of this church covered in the snowy beauty of a Christmas Morning!  I had a wonderful "Winter Wonderland" sentiment sticker given to me for free from Serendipity and decided to use it on my red card below:
I used a snowflake die from Heartfelt Creations to create a snowflake shaped window in my card base which I had already embossed with a snowflake embossing folder.  I edged the aperture in white charcoal pencil and then added glitter glue and fine glitter to it.    I then layered a piece of music vellum into the window and placed the stamped image behind it gluing both pieces to the front of the card base.
A sweet holly sticker to dot the "i" in Winter and some black and white twine complete this sweet card.

Then I decided to make a more CAS style card in earth-tones using Kraft cardstock and Mercury Glass Stickles around the snowflake aperture.
The sentiment I wanted to use was too big for the outside of this card so I just placed a sentiment on the inside only:

I love this sentiment "Let Heaven and Nature Sing"!  A favorite of mine!

Thanks for taking a look at my cards!  It is always fun to play with my Serendipity Stamps!  I need to add some more small sized sentiments to my stash I think!  I sure love the detailed beauty of their gorgeous images!

Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge - September 2016

Hello and Welcome to the Paper Sweeties September Inspiration Challenge!  We have a wonderful color palette and inspiration photo for you this month!  I just love the bright colors and those mason jars!

I needed to send some hugs to someone special so I used the "I love you" stamp set to create this card:

I used the lovely "Abigail" and dressed her in the sweet nightgown which I paper pieced using my "Welcome Spring" paper pad from American Crafts. I added a touch of glitter to her bow and the collar and cuffs and slippers of her sweet coordinating pajama outfit!

I also stamped and colored the sweet teddy bear so Abigail could hold it in her hand.  The sentiment fits so wonderfully with it!
A few "Cupcake Sprinkles" sequins finish the card off nicely!  And I added a touch of black cardstock for some additional contrast which I felt the card needed.  This is an easy way to add contrast to a card if you feel it needs just a little something extra!

If you are hopping along with our lovely Paper Sweeties Teamies this link list will help you on your way:
