I have been absent from my blog for a while...my husband has had some additional complications with his brain cancer and my spirit has not been in a crafty mood of late but today is Thanksgiving so I made a couple cards for family members.
I used a burlap embossing plate from cheery lynn designs on the PTI focal circle and colored the leaves on the sentiment stamp with my copic markers. Making this card did help my mojo so maybe I will try a second attempt at this challenge before Monday morning. I wish everyone a very blessed Thanksgiving day! I am so happy to be sharing this day with my sweet hubbie and son and my extended family. Here is one more card I made on this special day...I found this sentiment in the $5.00 set Fillable Frames #7 from Papertrey Ink....too bad I didn't see it before the first card...but now I know I have it for next year!
I don't have a lot of Thanksgiving stamps so I had to use what I had. I also tried to incorporate the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #42 challenge for this week of using sentiments to create a background and stamping them off to give different layers of depth on the card. You can kind of see this in the photo below but I didn't have a lot of "thanksgiving" type sentiments so I used a hat and a leaf stamp with the sentiment stamp that is also on the circle focal point on this card. I couldn't find any thanksgiving stamps in my PTI stuff and I had a limited amount of time so I went with what I did have and used my PTI 2.5 inch limitless layers circles die for the focal point.
I colored the buckles on the hat with a metallic gold pen for a little sparkle on the background.
Thanks for taking a look. Smiles - Jill
I'm sorry to hear your husband is having problems. I hope you were able to relax just a little, as you crafted these lovely cards for your family and friends.
