Paper Sweeties April Inspiration Challenge #30 - 'Hoppy Easter'

Happy April Fool's Day today and welcome to the Paper Sweeties April Inspiration Challenge! This month's theme is "Hoppy Easter"!  Here is the inspiration graphic:

Aren't these wonderful colors! And those sweet little "Peeps" too!  So inspiring!!!!!

I decided to use the cute little bird from the "Hippity Hoppity Easter Wishes" stamp/sweet cuts bundle.  I had stamped, die-cut, and colored two of the birds as part of the "The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge" put on by Kathy R. at her website: HERE. If you love to color there is a TON of wonderful inspiration and tutorials to be had on her wonderful site!

Here is the card I created using one of the little chicks I had colored:

I also used a heart stamp from the "Stand Add-On Fresh Baked" stamp set.  I wanted to make it look like the sweet bird was singing a song and sending Easter Wishes to the recipient of this card. The sentiment is from a set called "Baskets and Bunnies".

Everyone at Paper Sweeties hopes that you will join in this month's challenge! Debbie always offers a lovely gift certificate and guest design spot to the winner!

Here is our link list for today's blog hop! I cannot wait to hop around and look at all of the wonderful inspiration from my teammates!

March 2015 Blog Hop - Papertrey Ink

Hello,
Well if I hurry I am just going to get my entry posted to the March 2015 Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink before it closes in a wee bit.  I will also be linking this up to Darnell's "NBUS" challenge too a few minutes later.

I love this month's Blog Hop inspiration photo! One of my goals this year is to make some time to play along with all of the wonderful inspiration Papertrey Ink has to offer.  Today my son had a 1/2 day of school so I carved out a wee bit of time this evening to play along....

Here is the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the colors of the photo immediately and also by the many patterns.

Here is my card using my new "Quilted Spring" stamp set and dies along with another set called "Birds and Blooms" which was the PTI 2013 Anniversary set. This is the first time I have used the Quilted Spring stamp set so it qualifies for Danell's NBUS challenge! Thanks Darnell for hosting!  :)

And a close up....I added the green sprig and tiny hearts to the quilt areas using the Birds and Blooms stamp set.  I love the way this added additional details to the quilt block!  I tried several ideas out and this was the one that I liked the best.  Just as I was finishing the quilt block I dropped a limeade ice inked dauber onto the white area of the die-cut quilt block.  I ended up inking over the entire quilt block very lightly in limeade ice to "fix" the problem area.  I love the way it turned out.  To me it looks like a quilt that has been washed many times and is shabby and loved - like all of the quilts in my home!
Thanks for taking a look at my card!
I am off to hop around to see everyone's projects! Happy blog hop day with Papertrey Ink!  And thanks to my lovely friend Darnell for hosting her NBUS challenge #4!

I hope you will join in with some of your "Never Before Used Schtuff" too! And if you have never visited her blog before you are in for a treat!  She has one of the best blog voices on the planet! She always makes me smile or even laugh out LOUD!!!!

Hugs,
Jill

Today is the day that we showcase the new products and mix them with some of the existing Paper Sweeties stamp sets.  I have also shifted gears from Spring to.....Christmas.  Christmas?!?  Yep!  I really like to make Christmas items throughout the year so that when the Holiday rolls around in December I am not scrambling to make cards and tags for gift giving and mailing.  Do you do this?

Here is what I came up with.  Once again I am showcasing a stitched tag....
I also used the "Joy" sweet cuts dies and the "Homemade with Love" bundle. I die cut the "Joy" word die with red glitter foam twice to make my word tags.  Then I stamped and cut out a lovely cupcake and added two sets of holly leaves - one in white and one in green gingham. A few red crystals create the berries.

To add a "wintry" feel to the card I edged the black tags in white ink! And I may have gone over board on the red blings that I added....really SPARKLY!!!!! LOL!
Here is one shot at an angle!  I had fun breaking into my Christmas supplies once again! :)

Here is today's hop list!  There will be lots of fun projects to see today! Enjoy!

Paper Sweeties March Release Party!

Today is the day my friends!  All of the new Paper Sweeties goodies that we have been showcasing are for sale!

I am so enjoying playing with these lovely new products! There are so many ways that they can be used!

Today I have this card to share:

I die-cut the heart tag twice from a piece of aqua mini polka dot paper and removed the die cuts to work with the negative space.  I backed the heart openings with a floral paper I had in my stash and then used a white gel pen to edge the borders with dashed lines.  The butterflies are embossed on vellum and hand-cut from the "I Pick You" stamp set. The sentiment was also embossed and then the heart was colored with a copic marker.

I hope you have enjoyed all of the wonderful creations by the design team!  I love seeing what everyone makes!  So fun and inspiring! Tomorrow we will be back with our Release Rewind projects where we mix the new products with some of the already released Paper Sweeties stamps and sweet cuts.  Here is the entire blog hop list for today:

March 14, 2015

Hello and welcome back to the Paper Sweeties March Release Festivities!  Today we continue to countdown to our new releases on the 15th - tomorrow!

Today I have a card featuring the new "I Pick You" stamp set.  This lovely set contains a sweet set of "overalls" for our paper sweeties dolls!  And a variety of garden items too!  Here is the card I created:

Isn't she cute all decked out in her adorable overalls?  And she is carrying a basket that is also included in the new "I Pick You" stamp set.  I added the eggs to the basket from the "Sending Spring Time" stamp set.

Do you see the flowers stamped along the bottom of the aqua cardstock? That sweet flower stamp is also included in the "I Pick You" stamp set.  I used it to create a border along the bottom of my card.

And here is a close-up so you can see the sparkle and shine I added to her hat and blouse with my wink of stella clear glitter pen and some glossy accents.

Thanks so much for visiting with us today.  Here is the entire hop list so that you can visit the entire Paper Sweeties Team!  Wait until you see all of their lovely creations using these new products:

Paper Sweeties March Release Sneak Peeks

Hello Friends,
Yay!  It is time for the March 2015 release at Paper Sweeties!  We start today with some "Sneak Peeks" of what is coming out on the 15th!

Here are the sets that are being released this month:

You will fall in love with the Stitched Tags #1 stamps and sweet cuts dies!  There are three stitched tags in the set - a regular or basic rectangle tag, a heart tag, and a scalloped circle tag.  All having matching stamps to go with them.
And...here are my projects for today:
I started by creating a little 4x4" card set for Spring.  I used the rectangle stitched tag die to cut my white tags and stamped the flower from the new "I Pick You" stamp set three times to create a focal point on each tag.  I then colored them with Copics and added a white pen dot in the center of each flower.   I die-cut a colorful gingham mat and stamped a different sentiment on each card in the set.  A piece of ribbon tied in a knot and hot glued to the tag's eyelet completes each card.

The sentiment "All things grow with Love" is from the new "I Pick You" stamp set.  The remaining senitments: "Thinking of You", "Happy Birthday", "Get Well Soon" and "Easter Wishes" are all from the "Occasions" stamp set.
I love how fast this sweet little card set came together!

Next I played with the round stitched tag.  My thoughts have been turning to Easter and putting together some little treat cups or baskets for my nieces and nephews.  I had an idea to create these mini-baskets using the new stitched scallop circle tag.  Here is what I came up with:
And here are the pieces I used to create the treat cup or mini-basket itself:

Two of the new stitched circle tag die cuts.  And a rectangle measuring 3-1/2" long x 2-1/8" wide.  Score the 3-1/2 inch side at 1" and 2-1/2".  Then score the length of the rectangle on both sides at 1/4" to make the flaps that you will be taping to the circle tags to form the treat cup.  You will notice in the above picture that I also cut a "v" shape at each of the folds.  This makes it easier for the sides to fold and form the box.  I used score tape on the 1/4 inch seams and then attached the stitched circle tags to create the sides of the box.  Here is one more picture showing how the box comes together:

I created the handle by cutting a thin piece of the same gingham paper and threading it through the hole at the top of each tag as shown in the above picture.   I glued the handle in place on the inside of the basket with  some strong liquid glue.  You need a strong glue so that the handle will hold after you add your candies to it.
Once the miniature Easter baskets are made it is time to decorate them!  First I added a satin bow to each basket in a matching color. Then I stamped and colored the little bunny from the "Hippity Hoppity" stamp set and added him with some pop dots to the front of each basket.  His feet help to stabilize the basket so that it stays upright.  You could also trim the bottom scallop of the tag to help it to stand properly but the bunnies I added worked for me plus they are so cute!

The "Sweet Treats" tags were created using the heart stamp in the "Fun Shapes" stamp set.  I stamped the "xox" heart stamp and then colored the back side with Copics and added the "Sweet Treats" sentiment from "Fresh Baked Stand Add-on" set.  I actually cut this sentiment stamp in half very carefully so that I could stack the sentiment on my stamping block but if you don't like to cut your clear stamps you could also selectively ink the sentiment to fit it on the tag.

Here is a video showing how the basket is put together!  We are doing a giveaway on our YouTube Channel this month of a $20.00 Gift Certificate! Please subscribe to our channel and leave a comment to be eligible to win!

I love how cute the little pink gingham Easter Basket or treat cup looks with the "Easter Wishes" card! And in case you were wondering those are peanut M&M's inside the mini basket!  Mmmm! My son really enjoys when my Paper Sweeties projects involve my having to buy candy for photographs!  LOL!

It is now time for me to send you on your way.  We have some lovely new faces on our design team, Cheryl Lea and Kathy Schweinfurth!  We welcome them to their first release as Creative Designers with Paper Sweeties!  They are both wonderful designers and we are so happy to have them as Sweeties Teamies!  Wait until you see what they and the rest of the team have created for you as you hop around today's "Sneak Peek" posts.  Here is the entire link list to help you with your visits:
