Paper Sweeties Challenge - June 2017

Hello friends and happy June!  We are starting our 6th month of 2017 and summer is coming our way very soon!  And since it is the start of a new month it is also time for a brand new monthly challenge at Paper Sweeties!

I love this sweet scene with the cherries and gingham and mason jar and it inspired this card:

I started by creating a fun watercolor background using the ink smooshing technique on some watercolor cardstock.  I used the lovely Mason Jar stamps and sweet cuts to create my mason jar.
I chose some sweet cherry themed paper to match the inspiration photo to paper piece the label and topper. The pink gingham tag was die cut using the "Beautiful Little Wishes" sweet cuts and the sentiment is from the "Handmade for you" stamp set. To finish the card I added a felt doily in pink and wrapped it from the front of the card to the back over a 1/2 circle of the same cherry themed paper.  The final touch is the sentiment "Thanks ever so much" from the "Love you to pieces" stamp set.

I hope you will join today's challenge blog hop to see all of the wonderful inspiration from the entire team:

Paper Sweeties May 2017 New Release Party!

Happy Release Party Day!!!! Today all of the new releases that we have been sneaking peeks at are available at Paper Sweeties!!!!!

Here is a link list to all of the new items in the store:

Today I am showcasing the new "Howdy Y'all" stamp set along with the new Circle Scallop Frames Sweet Cuts Dies.
This lovely "Happy Father's Day" sentiment is one of 6 wonderful sentiments in the "Howdy Y'all" stamp set.  I just love this graphic font!!!  I used one of the "Stitched Tags #1" dies to cut a tag from some turquoise inked paper.  I love the pop of red that the crochet thread adds to the tag among all of the turquoise and white gingham.
My next card showcases the new "Circle Scallop Frames Sweet Cuts":
I die cut a second tag out of my inked paper and used it to add on top of the circle scallop frame die cuts.  I love the texture that the corrugated turquoise paper adds to the card!  This die set is so fun!!!  I love it!!!!
Okay that is it for me today but you need to go and visit the rest of the wonderful Sweeties Teamies to see all that they have to share with you:

And don't forget to return tomorrow for our Release Rewind!  I have one more card to share with you then!

Paper Sweeties May 2017 New Release Sneak Peeks

Hello Crafty Friends - Its time for SNEAK PEEKS at all of the wonderful new products for the May Release at PAPER SWEETIES!

And I am also announcing today that this will be my final new product release as a Creative Designer for Paper Sweeties.  I have so enjoyed my time working with Debbie and her awesome design team staff!  It has been a huge blessing to create with her sweet products and to share crafty time with so many creative team members and customers!  My last official Paper Sweeties post will go live on May 31st for the June Challenge but you will still see me around the web either here on my blog, on Facebook or on my Instagram feed: "greenwdgirl" when the creative mood strikes me!

Today I am sneaking a peek at a new stamp set called:  "Handmade For You".  This is a fantastic set of sentiment stamps that can be used when gifting handmade cards or other handmade items or homemade goodies fresh from your oven.

I created my tags using the "Stitched Tags #1" sweet cuts set.  I cut all three of the tag shapes starting with these hearts.  My sweet Mother Jackie (Happy Mother's Day Mom!) is a HUGE baker and is always gifting baked goods to someone - especially at Christmas time.  I love keeping her supplied with sweet tags to tape to the different goodies she wraps up for friends and family!  This sweet sentiment "Homemade for the Holidays" is just one of the 19 sentiment stamps in this FANTASTIC stamp set!

Next I made some scalloped circle tags:

And last some of the basic tag shape:

Of course I had to use some gingham paper for the tags and some sweet red crochet thread and bows to add some color.

I now get to send you on your way to see more SNEAK PEEKS:

Happy Mother's Day

Hello and Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful women in my life!  This means YOU!!!!

I thought I would share the card that I created for my Mom from Tim and I:

I used this absolutely wonderful Hero Arts stamp set to create this sweet card:

I am blessed with one of the sweetest Mothers and Grandmother's in the world!!!

Here is my beautiful Mom Jackie - on the left - with my sisters Diana, Beth and Natalie at Beth's wedding shower a couple of years ago. ( I am not in the photo because I am the photographer!)  She has raised 7 children and has 6 grandchildren so far!  She is an inspiration to me and my son and our whole family every single day and we all love her soooooooo much!  Happy Mother's Day Grandma/Mom!  We adore you!!!!!!

I hope that every woman that is reading this post today realizes how special they are in God's eyes. We all touch and "mother" those around us every day.  Whether we touch the heart of a child, a girlfriend, a complete stranger, or each other with a card or post or thought or smile we share we create joy in each others lives.  I feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful creative community which the Internet has opened up in my life. Enjoy your Mother's Day my friends and family!  And hugs to all those that are missing women that are no longer with them! May they feel your love in heaven and may you feel their spirits with you!  God Bless!
:) Jill

Paper Sweeties Challenge: May 2017 - Anything Goes

It's the beautiful month of May my friends! Here in the Pacific Northwest we are still waiting for some warmer days above the 50's but the spring flowers are in full bloom which makes me smile each morning as I walk through my garden while drinking my morning coffee....at least on the mornings it isn't raining!  Since it is May 1st it is also time for a new challenge at Paper Sweeties:

I just love this sweet vase filled with beautiful roses! I hope it inspires you to create something and play along with us!  You can create anything you would like and link up on our Facebook page:  Paper Sweeties Create and Share  in our MAY Monthly Challenge Photo Album.  Or you can link via our blog too.

I was in need of some sympathy cards this week so I used the challenge inspiration to create some very special cards for family....

For this card I used the heart border die from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts set to create a background.  I die cut multiple rows of the heart border die on my card panel.  I then backed the panel with a pink striped paper and inlaid the die cuts back into the panel along with half of the hearts.  This allows the patterned paper to show through on just some of the hearts.

Next I die cut two prim shaped hearts out of a very old Sissix Steel Rule Die in a pretty floral patterned paper.  I wanted the hearts to represent  a "Mother" and "Daughter" relationship on the card.  If you do not have a Primitive Heart Die you could use this pattern that I found on Pinterest or even hand draw a free form heart shape or two:

Or another option for a beautiful sympathy card focal point is the lovely "Sweet Cuts With Love" heart die set:

I wanted to make some sympathy cards with this die set too but I ran out of time.  I like to have several sympathy cards on hand in my stash because I find it hard to create them at the time I really need them.

To complete my card I stamped a banner using the "Be Happy" stamp set.  I added the sentiment "Heartfelt Sympathy" from the "Thinking of You" stamp set.  I then added some "diamond" stickles to finish this card.

My other two cards are very similar with just a gingham patterned paper as the background.

That is it for me today.  I now get to send you along on our wonderfully inspiring monthly challenge blog hop:

Paper Sweeties April 2017 New Release Rewind

Welcome back everyone!  Today is Paper Sweeties April 2017 Release Rewind!  Did you get to take a look at all of the wonderful products that were released yesterday?  So many fun new stamps and sweet cuts!  In case you missed it here are links to the products released yesterday:

On Release Rewind Day we like to use our new products with some of the existing products in the Paper Sweeties catalog.  I chose to use the Mason Jar stamps and sweet cuts with the crayon from the new "You Add Color To My Life" stamps and sweet cuts.

I paper pieced and Copic colored my mason jar and added a "Thanks Teacher" sentiment by combining the "Thanks" sentiment from Garden Time and the "Teacher" sentiment from "So Proud of You".   I then stamped the crayon on various patterned papers to create my crayons to fill the jar with.  A bit of red crochet thread creates a sweet bow around the top of the jar.  A lovely card to thank our Teachers for all that they do!

Thanks for joining us for the April Release Blog Hops!  Here are all of the links for more Release Rewind inspiration from all of the talented Sweeties Teamies:

And don't forget about our Monthly Challenge running through the end of April:

We would love to see what you are creating!
