Hello Friends,
I thought I would take this opportunity as 2012 draws to a close to put out my very first "Year In Review" post to pick my favorite cards made this year.
I started blogging and posting my cards here on November 4, 2010 - my very first post here at Greenwood Girl Cards. In 2010 I posted 9 times. In 2011 I posted 54 times. And in 2012 - 116 times! As I look back through my blog I have to laugh at some of the cards that I made and posted pictures of early on. I think I have come a long way since 2010 and since entering my first card challenges in 2011. I love that the internet and blogging has afforded me the opportunity to learn from all of YOU! All of you wonderful card makers and crafters out there on the world wide web. I started blogging and making a lot more cards than scrapbook pages after July 30, 2010 which is when my beloved husband Stuart was first diagnosed with a grade 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer. I had to leave my job to take care of him full time and I needed something for myself that gave me joy at a very difficult time in our lives. Stuart needed constant care after his brain surgery but there were times when he was resting where crafting became my place to recharge my batteries and take some precious time to get inky and create. Those times of creativity helped feed my soul with joy and peace so I could keep on keepin on. And I turned to stamping and card making again after Stuart's death in February 2012. It has almost been a year now since he passed away and I still find so much joy in making cards and crafty items for family, friends, and those who need them that are battling cancer or have patients that are battling cancer. Thanks for joining me on this journey, sharing your talents and sweet comments with me, and for your words of support especially since Stuart passed away. Tim and I appreciate your kind words, cyber hugs, and sweet friendship! Happy New Year 2013! I wish you all health, happiness, and many blessings now and always!
Here are my favorite cards from 2012. NOTE: There are quite a few so you may want to grab a cup of coffee or tea before you continue! Also - I didn't link the original posts to the pictures but if you have questions about any of the cards drop me a comment and I can send you the link or give you the post date info.

Wow .... Jill your creations are truly beautiful, and 2012 was a creative year for you. My favourite would have to be the owl, that is just ohhh larrh larhhh perfect, not that the others are not... they are all beautiful, but I love that owl. Best wishes to you for 2013.... may you be blessed. x
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing collection, Jill! Thank you so much for sharing all these fabulous creations! I've looked through them a couple of times already to take in and enjoy all the wonderful details and embellishments you have used. Every one is SO lovely! Wishing you all the best in 2013!
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty Jill. Love seeing the different styles and shapes. You are very creative. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteJill, I remember most of your cards and love each and everyone, no way to choose a favorite because they are all so wonderful in there own way. I wish you and Tim a fabulous 2013, no matter what you do! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have met you this year, Jill! My favorites would have to be the Valentine you made for your husband this year (I let out an "awwww" when I read your caption underneath) and on a lighter note, the fishing card you made with the fish in the circle. So very clever!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs to you and Tim, especially after this first Christmas season with your new family structure. A good friend of mine just lost her husband to Parkinson's (and Lewis Body Dimensia) in October. She has a son that's just a year older than your Tim and my Logan. The two of them had to redefine Christmas traditions this year too. A big hug to both of you for a very Happy New Year together!
Great look back Jill - it has been a creative year for you! Love the blogging community and opportunity to "meet" so many terrific people from all over the world. Looking forward to seeing and hearing what you are up to this year!
ReplyDeleteAll of these cards are just beautiful, Jill!
ReplyDeleteLoved your heartfelt post and wish you and Tim much happiness, good health, peace and comfort in the New Year! {{{HUGS}}}
What a super collection of cards. I am noticing that you are fantastic at using patterned paper.
ReplyDeleteJill, I see so much beauty and love in your cards. I am again so sorry for your loss of Stuart. I am very happy that you found some comfort in blogging and making card. Sounds like a blessing and saving grace. I am sending you a big hug.... Can you feel it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards and beautiful person Jill.
Hope you and your guy have a good week
