Designer Inspiration: Ashley Cannon Newell

Hi Everyone,
Here with my first card based on inspiration from the Papertrey Ink Design Team for the 6 year Anniversary Celebration over at Nichole Heady's blog: HERE

I am so excited for another year of releases from Papertrey Ink and for blogs full of inspiration and ideas from their wonderful design team.  I hope to make a card from each designer's favorites before the deadline at Noon on February 15th.  It is an incredible prize for one lucky winner! Check out this info taken from Nichole's blog post:

The-Grand-Prize

One lucky winner will receive their Papertrey wish list for FREE (up to a $300 value)!  Be sure to create a special wish list within your account on our website labeled "Anniversary".  If you are randomly selected as a winner, you will be sent the first $300 worth of items on that list!!!  Best of luck with the contest!

Have you created your wish list yet?  This is such an incredible prize!!!

For my first card I chose to work with Ashley's favorites.  I love Ashely's style and her cards always "WOW" me each release!  I chose the banner card in the second row on the right for my inspiration piece.  I loved this card when I first saw it and decided to make a banner card that I could use for any occasion.

Here is what I came up with:

The stamps that I worked with are from Summer Jar Fillers, Tiny Tags, BB Text Style II, and Tag Its #11.  The peacock feathers are hand cut from a piece of designer paper from October Afternoon's Woodland Park collection.
Here is a detail shot.  I cut lots of little slits in the feathers and curled the edges up to make them look more authentic.

Thanks for looking at my card!
:) Jill

  3. Such a pretty card! Loving the colors and the feathers! Your eye for details is great. I enjoy watching Ashley's videos. She is great at it. Good luck, your entries have all been great! I am sitting here with tea watching NEMO (the movie) as the storm is happening. Yes, I am a bit goofy, but hubby never saw it and I found it funny that they named the storm after that cute fish!
