Hi Friends,
I hope you are enjoying your summer and if you are a USA friend that you had a lovely Independence Day and 4th of July celebration!
The Paper Sweeties Creative Designers are joining the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge team for their "Sprinkles" challenge which starts today - July 5th. Here is the fun inspiration photo:
Paper Sweeties is launching a brand new sequin mix in honor of sponsorship of this fun challenge. Aren't these pretty! They are available at Paper Sweeties today! I just adore Debbie's flower sequins so much! They looks so cute on cards and scrappy projects too! I just stocked up on some fun colors for Autumn and Halloween which will be here before we know it!
Debbie has also donated a $25.00 gift certificate to the Paper Sweeties store! That would buy a lot of sequins! Or some stamps, or some dies....or ? I hope you will play along for a chance to win one of the prizes being offered.
I used clear embossing powder on the cupcake top to make it look like real frosting. It is hard to get a good picture of it though. Then I added some glossy accents to the flowers to make them shine!
The sentiment is so fun because of that little "heart" in place of the word "love". I colored it in with my Copic marker to match the flower center.
I will link all of the various stamp sets I used for the sentiments at the end of this post.
And finally a close up of the card sentiment:

On to my projects for today....For this first card I was inspired just by the cupcake itself! I love making birthday cards with cupcakes on the front and then gifting a box of 4 cupcakes from our local Cupcake Royale as the birthday gift! The "Sending Sweet Thoughts" stamp / die bundle from Paper Sweeties is perfect for cupcake themed cards! I have a few feminine birthdays coming up which feature this stamp/die set and several other wonderful products from Paper Sweeties...
My first card has a soft color palette of cream, green and pink:
I used clear embossing powder on the cupcake top to make it look like real frosting. It is hard to get a good picture of it though. Then I added some glossy accents to the flowers to make them shine!
The sentiment is so fun because of that little "heart" in place of the word "love". I colored it in with my Copic marker to match the flower center.
A cream twine bow, a bit of lace, and a tiny scalloped border strip finish off the card. I love the vintage feel it has. What girly girl would not want to receive this for her birthday?
My next card is a pocket card - it is a gift and a birthday card in one and is for my Mother's birthday coming up on August 3rd:
Inside the pocket are some small tags made with the "Stitched Tags #1" die set that can be used again on future birthday gifts that my Mom hands out. She has 7 children and 6 grandchildren so she is always giving a birthday gift to someone and she loves having little tags and cards on hand!
There is also a cupcake attached to a length of paper straw that she can use to decorate her birthday cupcake before she eats it! I tucked it into a spool of twine for the photo just for fun! It is topped with a sweet pink flower sequin! Love these Paper Sweeties sequins so much! The sentiments on the tags are from the "Sending Sweet Thoughts" and "Sweetie Pie" stamp sets.
Here is a peek at the inside of the card:
The left side has another pocket with more tags that can be used on gifts in the future....I will link all of the various stamp sets I used for the sentiments at the end of this post.
And finally a close up of the card sentiment:
The word "Mother" is from the "You are the Most Wonderful" stamp set. The "You Make Life Sweet" is from the "Sending Sweet Thoughts" stamp set. I love them together!
That is is for me for today. I hope that you join in the fun of this wonderful Cupcake Inspirations "Sprnkles" challenge!
Thanks for looking at my cards
Hugs,
Jill
