Spring 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Onto my card....I wanted to make a coffee mug with a spring feeling to it.  So I started by creating a vellum coffee mug embossed with flowers and colored with copics:

I used Paper Sweeties NEW "Keep Calm and Drink Coffee" sweet cuts die to die cut the coffee mug from vellum 4 times.  I embossed one of the vellum mugs with the flowers from the cake slice in the "Party Time" stamp set.  I then colored the backside of the vellum die cut with my Copics to add color to the flowers and leaves then I glued 3 layers of vellum mugs behind the first layer to give the finished mug some depth. Next I added a vellum steam die cut to the mug when I placed it on my white linen card base.  A partial circle window and some polka dot embossing of my turquoise cardstock creates a nice focal point.  And the lovely pink stitched ric rac border is from a Pretty Pink Posh diecut. The sentiment was cobbled together by selectively inking some sentiments from both the "Sending Sweet Thoughts" and "Tackle Life One Cup at a Time" stamp sets from Paper Sweeties.  And the finishing touch is some Licorice Twine.

Paper Sweeties March 2017 New Release Rewind


Welcome back to my blog and to the Paper Sweeties New Release Rewind for March!  Did you have fun shopping for the wonderful new stamps and sweet cuts Debbie released yesterday?  They are all so adorable!

Today is our Release Rewind and I have two cards to share with you...

First I combined the new coffee mug from the "Keep Calm and Drink Coffee" set with the Bunny from our Hoppy Easter basket add-on set.

Easter is coming up soon and I think the bunny looks so cute all colored in brown with pink cheeks!  I added three hearts to the scene from the heart border die. And the Hoppy Easter sentiment which looks so cute on the coffee mug.


Next I had an idea to make a tea party in the Paper Sweeties basket:

I stamped and die cut the basket using my MISTI  to get a really good impression.  Then I added a sweet green gingham liner to the basket  using a scalloped square diecut cut in half at an angle.  I then placed the teapot and teacups from the NEW "You Warm My Heart" stamps and sweet cuts inside.  I added the bow to the top of the basket and a sweet butterfly for a touch of spring!  I layered everything on a white panel that I inked with some distress ink for a pretty background. The sentiment is from the "You Warm My Heart" stamp set too.  A sweet little Tea Party in a basket for a friend!

Paper Sweeties March 2017 New Release Party




Happy Release Day!  Today the exciting new March Release products are available at

 I LOVE this release!  I have been creating card after card with it and cannot seem to stop! So many wonderful new images and sentiments!  I am so glad you get to see the sets in full today:




I am featuring the adorable "You Warm My Heart" stamp set today!  So let's get started:

This card shows the sweet branch and teacup stamp that are included in the set. As well as the "Sending a cup of thanks" sentiment which is one of many wonderful sentiments in this set.  I added a bird from the "Home tweet Home" set to this card but there are also two birds holding teacups in the stamp set that you will fall in love with!  They are adorable!

My next card features the beautiful floral teapot with the teacup:


I stamped the teapot and teacup on some two-toned striped paper in navy ink to pick up on the blue flowers in my chosen background paper.  The sentiment is from the new boutique stamp set called "Tackle life one cup at a time".  I colored some of the letters in with a red Copic marker to carry the color through the card.



 A sweet seam binding bow in "strawberry" from the Paper Sweeties store finishes off the focal point. And I added a couple of yellow flowers and a sweet bird from the "Home Tweet Home" stamp set and a strip of the red patterned paper to embellish the rest of my card as well as carry the red color through the card.

Paper Sweeties March 2017 New Release Sneak Peeks


Hello and Welcome to the March 2017 New Release for Paper Sweeties!  Today we are sneaking more peeks at the FABULOUS new sets that will be in the store on March 15th:

You Warm My Heart

I LOVE THIS RELEASE!  And I think you will love it too! 

I have several cards to share with you today so lets get started:

 I started by just doing some very simple stamping using the beautiful coffee mug image from the new "Keep Calm and Drink Coffee" stamp set: 
I love this coffee mug image with the fun text inside!  It is the kind of stamp that can stand on its own and is great for CAS or single layer cards.  I inked up this lovely mug image with some pure poppy red ink and then added some scarlet jewel maroon colored ink around the outer edges for a two-toned affect.  I stamped the steam image from this same set in "chai" ink.  I used come brown ink to add my sentiment which is from the new "You Warm My Heart" stamp set.  I colored in some of the letters with a red Copic marker for added interest.  I also inked the edge of my white focal panel with pure poppy ink and then layered it over a polka dot patterned paper in the same reds.  The yellow and cream angled border was part of the paper.  A very simple card that took only 10 minutes from start to finish! 


Next I decided to play with the matching die for the coffee mug in the "Keep Calm and Drink Coffee" sweet cuts set:
I cut the mug image out of different colored gingham papers and then added a flower to each mug and a sweet little bird to the scene too.  And the sentiment is from the "You Warm My Heart" stamp set.


I liked that card so much that I decided to make another one....
 This time I used pink gingham and some music paper for my coffee mugs.  I added some pink doily to decorate the pink gingham mugs and a flower to the music paper mug. An embossed mat and some decorative paper scraps help to ground the mugs. The sentiment is from the "Hello Friend" stamp set.

Paper Sweeties Challenge - March 2017 Anything Goes!

Hello Friends!  It's the 1st of March and time for a new challenge at Paper Sweeties!

I love the inspiration graphic this month and was inspired by the pink tulips, the pretty basket and the chalkboard sign too!  I love this palette and may make more cards using it but remember that the challenge is always "Anything Goes" !  We just love to see what you are making! 


You may notice that the coffee mug on my card is NEW!  So is that wonderful sentiment: "Happiness is a cup of coffee shared with a friend"!   That is because I am sharing some "Sneak Peeks" at some of our NEW MARCH RELEASE products!  There are FOUR brand new sets coming your way in March all with a HOT beverage theme!  So exciting!  You will learn more about these sets during our Paper Sweeties March Release Countdown Activities:

Now onto today's card:


I decided to use the lovely NEW sentiment as the "steam" coming up from my hot cup of coffee.  I added some white ink at the base of my cup so that it looks like the cup is sitting on a tablecloth. A very simple and clean card with just a touch of sparkle added with 3 adorable flower shaped "frosting" sequins from the Paper Sweeties store!
